Cecilia Sjöholm is a professor of aesthetics at Södertörn University. She has a PhD in philosophy from Radboud University in Nijmegen, Holland and a PhD in Comparative Literature from Stockholm University. She has studied at the University of Stockholm and at the Université Paris VII. She has been a visiting professor at the University of Oslo, Copenhagen, University of Minnesota, DePaul University and University of Essex and research fellow at the Humboldt University in Berlin and the Johann Wolfgang Goethe Universität in Frankfurt am Main,

Her research interests are currently focused on issues in phenomenology and aesthetics, with a particular view on the history of aesthetics and its relation to politics.

Nicholas Smith is a lecturer with the Department of Philosophy at Södertörn University, Stockholm (Sweden). He received his Ph.D. in theoretical philosophy at Stockholm University. He has done research at the Husserl-archives, Leuven and taught at PUC in Rio de Janeiro, besides numerous international lectures and conferences. His new researchproject, Perceptions of the Other, investigates proto-ethics of perception from the point of view of transcendental aesthetics (Levinas, Husserl) and psychoanalysis (Kristeva, Lacan). His most recent book is Towards a Phenomenology of Repression – A Husserlian Reply to the Freudian Challenge (Stockholm 2010). He is co-editor of Södertörn Philosophical Studies (2003). He has translated Ricoeur, Nietzsche, Derrida and Husserl and has written extensively on phenomenology, contemporary philosophy, psychoanalysis and art in Swedish, German, Brazilian and French publications.
